For children across Australia, these school holidays have been like no other. No hanging out with friends, family picnics, going to the movies, playing at the park or visiting grandparents. Indeed, the vast majority of young people have spent their holidays at home – the same place they will resume most of their (online) learning while parents and carers navigate staggered return-to-school arrangements that state governments are now cautiously putting in place.The urgent nature of the global response to COVID-19 has brought with it fast and unprecedented change to family, school and work life.
